Moulaye Brahim Hemam, known online as ventdelest, is a FIDE Candidate Master whose true home is the blitz server. He has played more than 8,000 rated games, and thousands of them are the fast and chaotic kind that keep the queue alive at 5 a.m.
This is a player who does not need a chessboard in a marble hall. Give him a clock, a little lag, and a willing opponent, and he has likely already queued up for another game while you are reading this sentence.
The Long Grind
ventdelest has been online since at least 2016, and his volume is staggering. Blitz is clearly the preferred time control: more than 7,000 blitz games in his record, with a rating graph that looks less like a line and more like a heartbeat monitor.
He has survived a 15 game losing streak, won 12 games in a row, and still returned for more. His resilience is impressive: an 88.54% comeback rate, and a 42.34% win rate even after losing a piece. In other words, never assume the game is over until his king is actually trapped.
Opening Repertoire
If you want to understand ventdelest, look at his first move: almost always 1.e4. He is not here to outlast you in a quiet positional squeeze. He wants an open fight.
Against the Scandinavian Defense and the Sicilian Defense, he has spent hundreds of games looking for tactics. The French Defense and Czech Defense also show up heavily in his files, and he has a soft spot for the Blackburne Shilling Gambit.

Time stats suggest ventdelest is at his best when the world is quietest. At 5 a.m., his win rate jumps above 57%. He also tends to get his checks in first more than half the time, and his favorite checking piece is the rook, because why be subtle when you can roll a heavy piece into the attack?
