Hi veritas2023 – Your Personal Game Review
What You’re Already Doing Well
- Consistent repertoire. You enter most games with 1.c4 (English) or the Sicilian as Black, giving you familiar pawn structures and typical plans.
- Fast king safety. In almost every win you castle by move 9, keeping your king secure while your opponent’s often remains exposed.
- Eye for tactics. Examples include 26.Rf7+ in the win over jimmyjimbello and the elegant 25…Rf1# vs cpt_kabelbinder. Your tactical alertness is a clear strength.
- Piece activity. You love rook lifts (Re1–e4, Rf1–f7, etc.) and queen switches (Qc4-f7+), successfully coordinating heavy pieces against the enemy king.
Biggest Improvement Opportunities
- Time-management in Daily games.
Five of your last six recorded losses were simply on time. Set two fixed check-in moments each day and turn on move-reminders so the clock never beats you again. - Handling …e5 / …d6 setups against 1.c4.
Opponents equalise quickly with …e5 or …d6 because you delay d2-d4. Review main-line English ideas (d4 breaks, f2-f4 thrusts) so you fight for the centre sooner. - King safety during pawn storms.
When you push e4-e5 or f4-f5 your own king sometimes lacks defenders (see the diagram position vs ᕼᘿᒪᒪᓍ Sᓰᐺᗩᖽᐸ ᕼᘿᒪᒪᓍ Sᓰᐺᗩᖽᐸ). Keep at least two minor pieces near your king before launching pawns. - Conversion in long endgames.
You won an epic 70-move Q+N vs K endgame versus pianojames, but faster techniques exist. Study basic rook and knight endings so you convert advantages with less clock pressure.
