Yoshijoy119: Bullet Chess Grinder
Yoshijoy119 is an online chess player with one true love: bullet chess. Since January 2022, they have logged more than 4,200 bullet games, plus generous side servings of blitz and rapid, and exactly one game of daily chess, which ended in a win, naturally. The whole approach can be summarized as: play 1.d4, click fast, never give up, and grind until either the king falls or the flag does.
The Bullet Chess Climb
The journey began humbly: twelve bullet games in the first month, exactly one win, and a rating that started with a 3. Most people would take the hint. Yoshijoy119 took it personally. Nearly three years of two-minute warfare later, the bullet rating had climbed almost a thousand points to a peak of 1281 (2024-10-16) in October 2024.
The road had potholes, including a 14-game losing streak that tested the warranty on the mouse, and a personal-best 9-game winning streak that presumably felt like being a world champion contender for an afternoon. In late 2025, a quiet 1657 (2025-10-17) in rapid became the highest mark in any speed, proof that when the clock allows it, the vision extends past move four.
Opening Repertoire: 1.d4 Today, 1.d4 Tomorrow
Roughly 99% of games as White begin with 1.d4. In 2024 alone, d4 was played 1,113 times and e4 six times, probably a misclick. Beyond the d-pawn obsession, the menu is wonderfully strange:
- The Australian Defense: nearly 1,000 bullet games across both colors, hovering at almost exactly 50%. A coin flip with extra steps.
- The London Poisoned Pawn Variation: over 500 bullet games of a London System with fangs. The archives file it under a name containing an official-looking redaction, as if the dark arts involved are classified.
- The Colle with 3...Bf5, Alekhine Variation: the best statistical weapon in the arsenal at a 57.6% bullet win rate. Slow, solid, irritating. A tank in pajamas.
- The Colle Rhamphorhynchus Variation: named after a pterosaur, and it flies about 43.7% of the time.
- A rotating cast of oddities, including the Amar Gambit and the Barnes Opening: Walkerling, because normal openings are for people who sleep well.
- As Black, the Blackburne Shilling Gambit appears 172 times: an early pawn trap built to punish the greedy, and plenty of bullet players have been punished.
One true weakness lurks inside the repertoire: the Bishop's Opening, owner of a 31% win rate and 72 losses. The nemesis was within all along.

- gaguez007: 1 win and 5 draws in 21 games, because hope dies last.
- fandedamaroja150, apparently a fan account of damaroja150: the record is 7 wins against the fan but only 6 against the idol, making the fan easier to beat than the hero.
- larritxapelas: 14 wins against 6 losses, the wholesome exception, proof that not everyone in the lobby is out to get them.
Playing Style: The Comeback Machine
The statistical profile reads like a motivational poster. Comeback rate: 89%. Win rate after dropping a piece: nearly 43%. Early resignation rate: 2.42%, which is a polite way of saying Yoshijoy119 does not believe in resigning. Lost positions are not lost, they are endgame homework, and with endgames appearing in 73.4% of games, there is plenty of homework to go around.
The average win takes about 63 moves of pure grinding. The favorite checking piece is the rook, with 4,201 rook checks delivered and counting. Opponents check more often than they get checked, 2.83 to 2.15 per game, and that gap is officially interpreted as respect.
