Hi yursachio – here’s some tailored feedback based on your recent games!

What you’re already doing well

  • Sharp tactical eye. In your win against citranaut you spotted the …Nxc2+ fork and converted a material lead all the way to mate. Your ability to calculate forcing checks is a real asset at your current level.
  • Confidence in initiative. You’re not afraid to grab pawns or launch early knight hops such as …Nd4 and …Nb4 to unsettle opponents. That boldness wins you many quick games when the opponent doesn’t react precisely.
  • End-game checkmating patterns. In several finishes you coordinated rook & queen smoothly (e.g. …Ra4# vs citranaut). Keep polishing this skill—it will serve you in longer games too.

Biggest improvement opportunities

  1. King safety first.
    • Three of your last four losses featured an uncastled or draughty king. • Example: against schaumig you castled long just as the c-file was blasted open. • Guideline: if you castle opposite sides, stop further pawn moves in front of your own king and hit the other king instead.
  2. Develop all your pieces once.
    • In many openings you move the same knight 3–4 times by move 7 (…Nc6–d4–c2 or …Nf6–g4–e3). • While fun, it leaves bishops & rooks sleeping—and a quick tactic from the opponent ends the party (see loss to clozer2004). • Challenge yourself: by move 10 every minor piece should be out and king castled.
  3. Avoid early queen adventures.
    • Your queen often appears on g5, b6 or h4 before minor pieces are safe. • Each time you were punished, you lost tempo chasing the queen back and fell behind. • Try a simple rule: “No queen move before move 10 unless I win material immediately.”
  4. Pawn-structure awareness.
    • In the Schaumig game a single passed h-pawn decided the game—yours marched, but their counter-play crashed through because your center pawns were fixed & blockaded. • Study concepts like pawn islands and passed-pawn races so you know when to advance or restrain.
  5. Time management.
    • Two recent wins came by your opponent’s flag, but you also lost on time once this week. • Drill 3-minute tactic puzzles; they teach you to spot patterns quickly and save precious seconds.

Concrete training plan

  • Daily: 10–15 tactics on Chess.com rated >= your current rating.
  • Opening focus for the next month:
    • As White: play one solid system only (e.g. London) until middlegame plans feel natural.
    • As Black vs 1.e4: try the Scandinavian (straightforward development, early …Qxd5 castle short).
    • As Black vs 1.d4/Nf3: stick to a compact setup (…d5, …e6, …Nf6, …Be7, …O-O).
  • Review each game for one turning point only. Clip it with the PGN viewer and ask, “What was the engine’s top move? Why?”
Example critical moment (you were White vs Schaumig):

Here, 42.Rxd3! would have held the position; instead you were mated.

Motivation corner

Your 623 (2025-04-19) shows you’re already climbing. Consistent basics + your natural tactical flair = fast improvement. Stick to the plan, analyse every loss, and you’ll break 700 soon.
