What you’re already doing well

  1. Fast tactical vision
Many of your wins come from spotting loose pieces and mating nets early. Example: the miniature against prathyu1611 where you converted the f2-weakness into a mating attack:
  2. Confidence to seize the initiative
You are not afraid to sacrifice pawns (sometimes even pieces) if it keeps the opponent’s king in the centre. That fighting spirit is excellent and will serve you well once it is backed up by sound structure.
  3. Resourcefulness in complications
In several games you escaped difficult positions by finding perpetual checks or tricky forks. This ability to “swindle” points is a real asset – keep sharpening it with daily puzzles.

Main growth areas

  1. Over-reliance on early queen raids
The lines 1.e4 e5 2.Qh5 or 2.Qf3 (often called the Wayward Queen Attack) work against beginners, but stronger opponents punish the queen with …d5, …Nf6 and quick development  – see your loss to thepono1. • Try a classical start instead: 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 (Italian) or 3.d4 (Scotch). You’ll reach safer middlegames and still get attacking chances.
  2. King safety & castling
In almost every defeat your king stayed in the centre too long or marched to d1/c3. A simple habit change will lift your results: develop minor pieces first, then castle before launching pawn storms.
  3. Time management
Four recent losses were “game abandoned” or on time in equal/ winning positions. • Use the opening phase to conserve time by playing a repertoire you know. • When ahead in a won endgame, avoid perfectionism – trade into simple positions and play increment moves quickly.
  4. End-game conversion
The 86-move loss versus belial6600 shows good resilience but also end-game gaps. Spend 10 minutes a day on king-and-pawn basics and the “Lucena” & “Philidor” rook positions – big Elo gain for little effort.

Action plan for the next two weeks

DayTaskGoal
Mon / ThuPlay 3 rapid games with the Italian or Scotch.Castle by move 8 each game.
Daily10 tactics puzzles (rating 400-800).80 % accuracy.
WeekendWatch one short video or article on tempo, outposts or pawn structure.Write one key idea in your notebook.
SunAnalyse one of your own losses without an engine for 15 minutes, then check with the engine.Identify the first critical mistake (“??” or “?!”) yourself.

Mindset tip

“Attack with all your pieces, not just the queen.” If you imagine drawing a line from every developed piece toward the opponent’s king, you’ll know when an attack is really justified.

Have fun & see you at the board!
