Hi Aiman Jaapor — Coaching Feedback

Current trajectory: you hover around the 850-900 blitz range with a personal best of 936 (2025-06-18). Your win-rate graph shows productive “grinding hours” but also clear slumps (

01234567891011121314151617181920212223100%0%Hour of Day
). Let’s turn those valleys into steady climbs!

What you already do well

  • Active piece play. In several wins (e.g. vs mattias1891) you seized open lines with Rc6, Rb7+, and finished with a clean back-rank mate.
  • Resourceful tactics. You spot forks & mating nets quickly — see 22.Rxc4!! followed by 22…Rd1# in your latest victory.
  • Practical time usage. Most wins come before move 30 and you rarely lose on time yourself. That is a real competitive edge at 3-minute.

Recurring problems that stall progress

  1. Early queen adventures & loose king.
Game vs gdazi shows the pattern:

. You brought the queen out, traded pieces randomly, never castled — and were checkmated on move 35. Castle first, hunt later.
  2. Ignoring opponent counter-punches. After winning material you often keep grabbing (e.g. 25…Qxh2 in the same game) instead of neutralising threats. Learn to ask, “What can they do to me next move?”.
  3. Endgame conversion. Two recent losses happened with extra material but under 30 seconds (vs invisiblegeorg & and9988001199mi). Flipping to defensive mode too early costs precious tempi. Endgames reward centralised king + passed pawns.
  4. Opening breadth without depth. Bishop’s, Italian, French-Exchange-ish setups, Nimzowitsch & Scandinavian as Black — many first moves, few sturdy structures. Depth beats variety at this rating.

Four-week improvement plan

  1. Tactics diet: 15 puzzle rush attempts OR 30 rated puzzles daily, focusing on pins, forks, back-rank mates & zwischenzug themes. Keep a notebook of motifs you miss.
  2. Opening hygiene: Build one main line each side: • White — Italian Game (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Bc5). • Black — Scandinavian (1.e4 d5) or French (1.e4 e6). Memorise only first 8-10 moves + plans, not long theory.
  3. King-safety checklist: Before move 8 ask: • Are my minor pieces out? • Can I castle? • Is my queen still on her starting rank? If two answers are “no”, fix them.
  4. Endgame reps: Play 5 games of 5|5 per week, deliberately trading queens by move 20, then converting. Analyse with engine & voice record why a technique worked/failed.

Quick reference mantra

Open > Develop > Castle > Connect rooks > Improve worst piece > Strike tactically

Next review milestone

Aim for a stable 950+ blitz rating in 30 days. Upload five annotated games; we will revisit trends and set new targets.

Keep the pieces coordinated, keep the king cosy, and keep asking, “What’s my opponent’s idea?” — that alone will vault you past the 1 000 mark. Good luck and enjoy the climb!
