Hi Amodenbedste! đź‘‹

You have an energetic, ambitious style and you’re not afraid to throw your queen into the action very early. That boldness brings you many quick wins – but it also explains most of your recent losses. Below is a personalised action-plan to turn more of those sharp games into points.

1. Opening Priorities

  • Delay the queen sortie. In several recent games (e.g. vs olesyalermontova, akatzukeee) the move …Qe5/ Qh5 invited tempo-gaining attacks. Try a “three-step rule”:
    1. Develop two minor pieces,
    2. Castle,
    3. Connect rooks,
    before launching the queen.
  • Build a starter repertoire that follows classical principles:
    • White: replace 2.Qh5 with 2.Nf3 (Scotch / Italian) for solid development.
    • Black: in the Scandinavian experiment with 3…Qa5 instead of repeated queen checks; it keeps the queen safer and prepares …Nc6.

2. Tactics & Calculation

Your sharp openings guarantee tactical positions – so tactical accuracy is non-negotiable. In the diagram below you were doing well until one loose move allowed a forced mate:

  • Daily puzzle routine: 15 min/day on intermediate difficulty (rating 1300-1800) will sharpen your calculation.
  • Blunder-check habit: Before every move ask “What are the checks, captures and threats for both sides?” It would have revealed 22.Nxe6! in the example.

3. Time Management

  • You lost two games on time in winning or equal positions. Try increment time controls (5 + 5, 10 + 10) until the end-game decision-making feels automatic.
  • Adopt a “stop-think” rule: spend at least 20 seconds on any move that changes the position drastically (queen move, capture, pawn break).

4. End-game Technique

Games vs akatzukeee and nunesx show that winning conversions get tricky when material thins out.

  • Study basic king-and-pawn endings; they occur often after your piece trades.
  • Practice rook end-games with “Building a Bridge” and the Lucena & Philidor positions.

5. Positive Trends

  • Your attacking instinct is excellent; when the opponent neglects safety you finish efficiently (see 13.Qxf7# vs joviboro).
  • You’re comfortable playing both colours and a variety of pawn structures – keep that flexibility.

6. Suggested Weekly Plan

  1. 3 rapid games (10 + 5) focusing on principled development, no early queen moves.
  2. 60 tactical puzzles.
  3. Review each game with the computer, annotate one critical moment manually.
  4. Watch one short video/lesson on end-game fundamentals.
