Hi anair01 – personalised coaching report
Quick snapshot
- Peak Rapid: 2073 (2022-02-13)
- Peak Blitz : 2077 (2019-12-20)
- Main weapons: 1.b3 / Nimzo-Larsen as White, 1…e5 set-ups as Black
What is already working
- Active piece play. Your wins show early rook lifts and queen activity (e.g. 19.Qxf7+ in your latest victory).
- Confidence in off-beat openings. The b3/Bb2 system scores well because you know the typical plans better than many opponents.
- Decent technical endings. Converting the extra passed c-pawn vs shatranji44 was clean and shows you can keep calm in queenless positions.
Recurring issues & targeted fixes
-
Premature pawn thrusts around your king.
• Loss vs girlfromnowhere: …g6–g5 weakened dark squares and handed White the attack.
• Rule of thumb – before touching a pawn that guards your king, ask: “Which squares become weak and which pieces can land there?” -
Leaving pieces loose after material grabs.
Example: 16…Qxa1?? (loss vs harry-bub) overlooked Nb1 ideas and cost a rook.
• Use a simple “blunder check” routine: scan for Checks, Captures, Threats (CCT) for both sides before clicking “Move”. -
Spanish (Ruy-López) handling with Black.
After 9.d4 you played …Bg4 and soon gave up the bishop pair. Study the Breyer or Chigorin plans that keep the dark-squared bishop; your structure will remain sound. -
End-game pawn races.
Latest loss reached a rook-and-pawn race you couldn’t hold. Drill the fundamental Lucena & Philidor setups (Lucena). Five minutes of practice a day pays huge dividends. -
Time-management.
Some wins relied on your opponent’s flag while your position was still tricky. Aim to keep at least 60 s in reserve entering any queen or rook ending.
4-week improvement plan
| Day | Session |
|---|---|
| Mon-Fri | 15 tactical puzzles + annotate one of your own games (win or loss). |
| Saturday | 30-min opening audit – update your 1.b3 file & pick a sound Ruy-López line as Black. |
| Sunday | End-game drill: 5 rook-and-pawn endings vs the engine (start from Lucena & Philidor positions). |
Key positions to replay
- Critical turning point of your last loss (after 31…Rc8). Try to hold with best defence: .
- Conversion practice – starting from move 30 of your win vs ginoperossi7, play against engine until check-mate.

Final thought
You’re already near the 2000 barrier – patching the few structural leaks above will push you well beyond it. Keep enjoying the game and good luck in your next session!
