Hi Tatev, here’s a focused review of your recent Blitz play

Your Competitive Snapshot

  • Peak rating (Blitz): 2695 (2022-12-13)

Strengths to Keep Leveraging

  1. Dynamic pawn breaks. In the recent East-Indian win vs. silentriddler_12 you uncorked …d5 and …b5/b4 at exactly the right moment, seizing the initiative.
  2. Tactical alertness. Motifs such as the exchange sacrifice on f4 and the rook lift to the 6th show up in several victories—keep sharpening with 5-minute puzzle rushes.
  3. Broad opening palette as White. You switch comfortably between 1.e4 and 1.d4, making preparation difficult for opponents.

Growth Areas

  1. Time management. Four of the last five losses were on the clock or after a frantic time-scramble. Borrow 10-15 seconds earlier (moves 15-25) to build a “time safety buffer.”
  2. French Exchange as Black. Both April losses started from the Exchange French. You reached equal positions but drifted. Consider:
    • Adopting 4…Nc6 instead of 4…exd5 to avoid symmetrical structures.
    • Studying the Karpov plan …Bd6, …Ne7-g6, …O-O with play against White’s IQP.
  3. Conversion technique in won endings. Two wins required 60+ moves with a clear extra material edge. Practice Dvoretsky’s “Technique Triad”: restrict, improve king, create second weakness.
  4. Handling opposite-side pawn storms. In the Najdorf loss you let …b4 break your centre before your own g-/h-pawns arrived. Train the “race” positions with engine sparring—set the start position at move 14 of that game and play both sides for 10 reps.

Below is the critical phase of your last win. Revisit the exchange sack on f4 and look for faster finishes:

Next Check-in

Play 30 blitz games with the new time-buffer habit, record the number of sub-10-second moves, and we’ll review the improvement curve together.

Good luck and enjoy the grind!
