Hi Cedomir!

Congratulations on your recent victories and your steady climb to 2502 (2024-04-23). Below is a concise action-plan based on your latest games.

1. Opening repertoire – keep the surprise, add the science

  • With White: Your Sicilian Rossolimo/Canal approach (3.Bb5+) scores well. After 6.d4 you handled the resulting IQP structure confidently. Keep deepening this line; study model games by Giri & Caruana.
  • With Black: You mix …g6 set-ups and early …c5 strikes against 1.d4. In the last loss you chose the Tarrasch-QGD hybrid (…c5/ e5) but let White’s Nxf5-Ne3-Nd5 fork tactics in. Consider a more solid move-order: 9…...Bb4 check or 9…dxc4 before expanding.
  • Build an opening review loop: after every session add one new line to your file and blitz through it vs. the engine for 10 minutes.

2. Tactical alertness – convert advantages faster

Your wins often feature the rook swing Ra1-e1-e7 or Ra1-a3-g3. Great! Yet several losses come from overlooking one-move tactics.

Snapshot from the most recent loss:

Drills: 10 puzzles/day filtered for “fork” and “zwischenzug”. Pair that with a weekly 15-min session on Lichess Puzzle Streak.

3. Endgame & time management

  • Clock handling: 5 of the last 8 losses were on time. Adopt a “half-time strategy”: aim to have ≥50 % of your initial time at move 20.
  • Rook endings: In the win vs. NickyBgd1 you converted R+4 P vs. R+3 smoothly. Keep honing this skill—two table-base checks after each rook ending will engrain the technique.

4. Psychological habits

You tend to push pawns on both wings when ahead (see 16.g4/17.g5 in the 41-move win). It works, but be mindful of over-extension once you cross the 2300 barrier where opponents punish weakened king positions.

5. Suggested weekly plan

  1. Mon/Wed/Fri: 1 rapid game (15|10) with post-mortem for 20 min.
  2. Tue/Thu: 30 tactical puzzles + 15 min opening flash-cards.
  3. Weekend: Review 2 classic games that reach structures from your repertoire.
