Hi coyote_crazy! — Post-game Feedback
What you’re already doing well
- Tactical alertness. Your win against xoxoxoxxo (see miniature below) shows you can spot double–attacks and mating nets.
- Clock control. You often keep 70-80 % of your time after 20 moves, so calculation, not time trouble, decides your games.
- Opening repertoire. With White you know the Accelerated London System well; with Black you are comfortable in open 1.e4 e5 positions.
Recurring problems that cost points
- Pawn storms before king safety.
Games against kopnu and moh22amed show g- and h-pawn pushes while your king stayed in the centre. Castle first, then attack. - Vacated squares on b4/f4/c4.
In the loss to maxboada1 …Nb4 hit c2/d3 because you advanced the b-pawn too early. Before pushing a pawn, ask: “Which squares will I give away?” - Trading the London bishop too cheaply.
After 10.Bxe7?! in the A45 game you lost dark-square control, letting Black’s queen & bishop invade. - Converting material.
Even in wins (e.g. versus tayevil) counter-play was possible. When ahead, trade pieces (not pawns) and centralise your king.
Action plan for the next 2 weeks
| Day | 20-30 min task |
|---|---|
| Mon/Wed/Fri | 25 rated puzzles focusing on forks, pins & back-rank motifs fork. |
| Tue/Thu | Replay the miniature below without moving pieces, explaining every move aloud. |
Note how every Black move added a concrete threat. Aim for this clarity in all attacking positions.
Opening homework
- With White: Mix in 3.Nf3 & 4.c4 versus …d5 so opponents can’t prepare only for your London.
- With Black: Against 1.e4 study the first 8 moves of the main-line Italian (…Bc5, …Nf6, …d6). It’s safer than the …f6 line in your game with vtigambit.
