danyafromheaven: The Clock's Worst Enemy

Some people play chess to relax. danyafromheaven plays chess to make the clock sweat. Emerging in late 2025, Danya stacked up a bullet peak of 2905 and a blitz peak of 2516 (2025-10-31) almost immediately, all while officially listing blitz as the preferred time control. The several hundred bullet games played per month suggest the relationship with speed is less a preference and more a lifestyle.

Blitz by Title, Bullet by Volume

The official record shows surprising restraint: 13 rated blitz games, 9 wins, 4 losses, and a rating parked right at 2500. Every one of those games, and nearly every serious game before them, began the same way: 1.Nf3. That knight hop appeared as the first move 140 times, roughly ten times more often than d4 (4 appearances) and twenty times more often than e4 (7). The move order wanders through g3, c4, and even a philosophical h4 (12 times), but the knight goes to f3 the way tides go to shore.

An Opening Repertoire With Teeth and a Pterosaur

The repertoire reads like a museum gift shop. The Amar Gambit, a 1.Nh3 oddity that has no business working, wins over 70% of its 47 bullet games. The Rhamphorhynchus Variation of the Colle is named after a Jurassic flying reptile, and opponents report feeling exactly like prey. The Poisoned Pawn Variation of the London scores 63.64%, the King's Indian Defense setup as White wins 81.82% of the time, and the Wiedenhagen-Beta Gambit sits at a tidy 80%. Even the Caro-Kann Defense gets respectful service at 54%.

Not everything soars. The Slav Defense wins just 25% of its games, and the Bonet Gambit (28.57%) might be a gambit best mailed back to sender. Nimzo-Larsen Attack fans get a solid 60%, so the collection balances out.

The signature start, for the curious:

The Nemesis Ledger

Every player has rivals, and Danya's come in two flavors: prey and natural predators.

  • Arman_Vardanyan: 51 games, 42 wins, 5 losses. Basically a personal cheese grater.
  • Thienbao_11: 21 wins, 3 losses, 2 draws. Another reliable harvest.
  • Chuong Pham: 90 games, 21 wins, 67 losses. The moon to Danya's werewolf; the rating reliably howls afterward.
  • Dattasai Kilari: 41 games, 2 wins, 38 losses. Some rivalries are ladders. This one is a trapdoor.

The streaks are oddly honest about it: a 13-game winning streak matched by a 14-game losing streak. Symmetry, at its finest.

Style: Comebacks, Queen Checks, and Refusing to Fold

  • Comeback rate of 83.11%: even after things go wrong, things go right.
  • Early resignation rate of 1.2%: just 8 career resignations, against 103 losses on time. Danya does not resign. Danya gets mated, or the flag falls.
  • Endgame frequency of 80.67%: wins average 67 moves, losses drag to 81. Games here are marathons wearing sprint shoes.
  • 1,296 checks delivered, 455 of them by the queen. The enemy king has only ever been checked 4 times by Danya's own king, and those games presumably ended in apologies.
  • First to check 54% of the time, with a 57.55% win rate after landing that first checkmate-adjacent jab.

Circadian chess matters too. The win rate at 18:00 is a perfect 100%, and Thursday runs at 88.89%. Saturday sits at 30.3%, which strongly suggests Saturdays are for going outside. The 20:00 hour shows a win rate of 0%, so friends, do not schedule anything chess-related at 20:00. A tilt factor of 14 confirms it: statistically, this is one of the chillest players ever to lose 103 games on time.

The Road Ahead

Rapid chess remains the final frontier: 5 games, 4 wins, 1 draw, zero defeats. Unbeaten in rapid, scoring at nearly 79% strength-adjusted. If the 20:00 curse can be broken and the Slav handled with a little more care, the only question left is whether the pterosaur flies higher. Either way, expect 1.Nf3 on move one, a queen check somewhere around move 30, and absolutely no resignation until the very last tick.
