Hi GMilias15 – here’s a focused improvement plan based on your latest games

1. What you’re already doing well

  • Dynamic piece play. In many of your wins you willingly give pawns to seize lines (e.g. 16.Qxa6! in your Benoni win).
  • Conversion with a material edge. Once you reach a technically winning position you usually steer the game home efficiently (see the a-pawn sprint in the Caro-Kann win).
  • Opening repertoire ownership. You clearly know the pawn-triangle systems beginning with 1.c3/1.d4 and the Caro-Kann as Black, so you get playable middlegames quickly.

2. Repeated trouble spots

  • King-side pawn pushes too early. In your loss to andres8621 the advance 9…h5 and 10…Qf6 created dark-square holes that allowed 23.Qxa7? yet still left you getting mated by 23…Qxg2#. Guard against unnecessary pawn moves in front of your own king before development is complete.
  • Time management. Two recent defeats (one vs 1383 on time, another resignation in a drawn rook ending) came from spending 25-30 sec on early moves and then rushing later. Aim to keep at least 30 sec on the clock after move 20 in 1-minute games by making book moves instantly.
  • Handling of open central files. Several losses (Dutch vs anagram88, Reti vs jessiccalawrence) followed an exchange of queens where your pieces were left passive on the back rank. Develop rooks faster and contest the central open file immediately with …Re8/…Rd8 or Rc1/Rd1 as appropriate.

3. Opening tune-ups

Current lineTypical issueQuick fix
Saragossa (1.c3 d5 2.d4) Lack of pressure; you often over-extend with early g- and h-pawns to create chances. Add an early c4 break: 1.c3 e5 2.d4 exd4 3.cxd4 d5 4.Nc3 for more central tension.
Caro-Kann (Black) Struggling vs Exchange/2.Nc3 lines; pieces end up cramped. Study the classical 4…Bf5 setups and the sharp 3…c5 line to vary the pawn structure.
Dutch Defence (Black) Early …e6 & …c5 leaves dark squares weak. Try the Stonewall move-order (…f5, …e6, …d5, …c6) to solidify e6 & avoid c5 too early.

4. Tactical example to study

The quick mate against andres8621 shows how fast an exposed king can fall. Replay it until you can spot Black’s resources instantly:

5. Training targets for the next two weeks

  1. 30 © Puzzle Rush runs (set to Survival) to sharpen calculation when low on time.
  2. Annotated classical game study. Pick 5 Capablanca queen-less middlegames to improve piece placement in quiet positions.
  3. Endgame drill. Practise 20 rook-and-pawn vs rook endings; aim to win/hold the Philidor & Lucena positions in under 30 sec.

6. Performance trackers

Keep an eye on your progress:

  • Hourly win rate:
    0123467891011121314151617181920212223100%0%Hour of Day
  • Win rate by day:
    MonTueWedThuFriSatSun100%0%Day of Week
  • Peak blitz rating: 2121 (2025-06-19)

Stay disciplined with king safety, watch the clock, and your aggressive style will convert into even more wins. Good luck!
