Zhe Quan - International Master

Meet Zhe Quan, aka masterperformers – the International Master who blends precision with a hint of mystery... mostly about their daily rating, which stubbornly hovers at 400 or 800, proving perhaps that even grandmasters can enjoy a bit of irony.

Specializing in blitz and bullet chess, Zhe Quan’s lightning-fast reflexes and tactical sharpness have propelled them to a blitz peak rating of 2827 and a bullet peak rating of 2638. Their rapid games aren’t far behind, with a top rating of 2595 achieved as recently as October 2024. If speed chess were an Olympic sport, they’d bring home the gold... or at least a shiny pawn.

Over thousands of games, Zhe Quan’s win record speaks volumes: over 500 blitz wins with an impressive win rate above 69%, and a staggering 87% win rate in bullet games using their "Top Secret" opening repertoire. They have a knack for coming back from tough positions, boasting a comeback rate of over 82%, which in chess terms means “never underestimate the player who looks like they’re losing.”

Known for a steady playing style, Zhe Quan doesn’t quit early – their endgame frequency is high, and they average roughly 74 moves in victories, displaying patience rivaling the longest chess matches. Despite a tilt factor of 5 (because, hey, everyone has their off days), their psychological resilience keeps them climbing the rating ladder.

Fun fact: Zhe Quan’s favorite time to strike is around 11:00 AM when their win rate hits 100%! So if you want to catch them off guard, try challenging them in the dead of night – but don’t say we didn’t warn you, because by early morning, this masterperformer is firing on all cylinders.

Their most recent victories showcase a sharp proficiency with the Trompowsky Attack, overwhelming opponents both on the clock and on the board. Losses are but stepping stones, often by daring players who momentarily find the key to break through.

In the world of chess, Zhe Quan is a paradox wrapped in an enigma, playing lightning-fast games yet thinking deeply, staying humble while demolishing opponents. Whether you’re facing them daily or blitzing against them online, beware – this International Master’s moves are as unpredictable as their “Daily” rating!

“Chess is not always about winning by force; sometimes it’s about winning with style…and a little mischief.” – Probably something Zhe Quan would say if asked.

Hi Zhe Quan – Personalised Performance Review

What’s already working

  • Enterprising openings with White
Your Trompowsky/Torre systems regularly yield an early initiative. The recent win against Raymond Gao shows crisp handling of the Bxf6 c3 d4 structure.
  • Tactical eyesight
Ideas such as 18.Nxc5!! and 35.Nf4! (GAO game) illustrate sharp calculation when the position is “alive”.
  • Fighting spirit in long endgames
You converted a tough rook-and-pawn ending (vs GAO) by keeping the passer alive until it queened.
  • Rating potential
2827 (2023-05-16) confirms you already perform at a strong level – the following tweaks should push you higher.

Priority areas for improvement

  1. Early flank-pawn pushes as Black
In the loss to Eugene Hua you advanced …h5-h4 before completing development, weakening g6–f7. • Ask the classic pawn can’t go back question: “Which squares am I leaving behind?” • Study model English/Closed-Sicilian games where Black keeps the kingside compact and breaks with …d5 or …f5.
  2. Passive piece placement in the “double-fianchetto” set-ups
Moves such as 11…Nd7 & 17…Nf8 ceded the d5/b6 outposts. Consider switching to either a) Symmetrical English with …e5, or b) Queen’s-Indian style …e6/…d5 so both bishops hit the centre early.
  3. Time management
Two recent games (vs Francisco Jesus Wong Velis, immobilizing) were lost on time despite drawable positions. • Budget ≈60 s for the first 10 moves. • Practise “increment sprints”: play rook-endgame drills with 5-second increment until you can move confidently without dipping below 10 s.
  4. Converting winning positions
With material edge you sometimes keep complicating (e.g. 24…g5 vs PositionalGenius). Adopt “trade pieces, keep pawns” unless a direct mate is on the board.

• White: Trompowsky (A45) and Fianchetto vs Dutch – excellent results.
• Black: Najdorf scores well; flank openings (1.c4/1.Nf3) need a reliable main line.
• Homework: build a 12-move anti-English repertoire you trust.
