Hi moloi67 – keep up the fighting spirit!

What you already do well

  • Fast piece play: You usually get both knights and at least one bishop out quickly, and you tend to castle before move 10. This is excellent for king safety.
  • Central pawns move first: Almost every game starts with 1.e4 or …e5/…d5 – that is the right way to claim space at this level.
  • Nose for tactics: When a loose piece appears you are not shy to grab it (e.g. 8.Bxa8! against envixity33333). Spotting these shots is a key strength for bullet.
  • Resilience: Many of your wins come from difficult positions where you keep the game going until the opponent’s flag falls – a valuable practical skill in 1-minute chess.

Biggest improvement areas

  1. Time management – avoid your own flag:
All five recent losses were on time. Even in bullet you still have enough seconds to finish the game if you:
    • Use safe premoves when a reply is forced (e.g. recapturing with a king or pawn).
    • Trust your intuition in won positions instead of searching for perfection.
    • Glance at the clock every move; if it shows <5 s, switch to “blitz mode” – play instantly, even if the move is only 90 % good.
  2. Queen adventures – cut the sightseeing short:
Games vs ajpersona and jos6922 featured early queen sorties (Qxd4-Qe3-Qh5 etc.). Each extra queen move costs a tempo and lets the opponent catch up in development.
Rule of thumb: put the queen on a safe square once and leave her there until minor pieces are developed.
  3. Don’t ignore enemy threats while hunting pieces:
    • In the loss to clementviolle you grabbed pawns/rooks but were checkmated by …Qxg2#.
    • Against GraysterXD you won material but allowed a crushing rook invasion on the d-file.
Train tactical defence (look for checks, captures, and threats) with 5-minute puzzle rush sessions.
  4. Simplify winning positions:
In the win vs vedant_sharma_3 you were up a rook on move 25 but still played 28 moves total and almost flagged. Trade pieces when ahead – it shortens the game and saves clock.

Action plan for the next two weeks

  • Daily 10-minute drill: three tactics puzzles + replay one master miniature (<20 moves) to see clean development.
  • Opening discipline: For White play the Italian (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4) and follow basic moves; for Black answer 1.e4 with 1…e5 and copy the same principles. No early queen moves until you are castled.
  • Clock habit: During every bullet game repeat internally: “piece, threat, clock” before releasing your hand.
  • Review one of your own games each evening. Paste the PGN into an engine only after you tried to find improvements yourself.

Quick reference wall

• Fork = fork  • Pin = pin  • Zwischenzug = zwischenzug

Annotated snapshot – your nicest recent tactic

After 8.Bxa8 you pocket a full rook because …Rxa8 fails to 9.Qf3 (double attack on f7 and a8). Excellent awareness – look for the same motif in other games!

Keep going!

Bullet at this level should be fun and educational. Iron out the queen wanderings, defend tactically, and watch your flag – rapid improvement will follow. Good luck, and see you at the board!
