What you’re doing well

• Tactical alertness. In several wins you spotted Nxf7, Qxb7 and advanced pawns (e.g. c7-c8=Q) with confidence. Your calculation ability is your main weapon right now.

Biggest improvement opportunities

1. King safety  –  castle earlier.
   In your last two losses you delayed castling and allowed …Qg3# and …b6#. Follow the basic opening rule: “Develop and castle by move 10.” Add a mental checklist: “Are both kings safe?” every 3-4 moves.
2. Impulse pawn pushes.
   Moves like g4 (vs yapofyips) or b4 (vs quenken) created dark-square holes around your own king. Before pushing a wing pawn ask, “Does this weaken squares my opponent can invade?” 5-second habit: scan the board for undefended squares after any pawn move.
3. Material greed vs. counterplay.
   Capturing on b2 or a1 looked tempting, but it let opponents coordinate threats. Try the “two-question test”: “What can my opponent do after I take?” and “Can I safely consolidate?” If the answer to either is unclear, consider a safer move.
