Who Is Nemsourek08?

Jáchym Němec, known online as Nemsourek08, is a Czech International Master with a FIDE title that feels almost too formal for the amount of bullet chess he plays. His profile is a portrait of someone who treats the clock as a dare. Rapid is listed as his preferred time control, but his activity board tells a more honest story: he lives where the clock burns fastest.

From a solid amateur-ish starting point in 2019, he has turned into a genuinely terrifying speed chess presence. His Bullet arc is included below, and it moves in one direction: up.

An Opening Book That Refuses to Stay Closed

Němec does not treat opening theory like sacred art. He treats it like a playground, especially when the game is fast. He has thrown the Nimzo-Larsen Attack more times than most players have played blitz games, and he steers into the Sicilian Defense with real confidence. When he needs a solid answer, the Caro-Kann Defense shows up too.

His taste for unusual setups is even visible in harder lines. The so-called Colle Rhamphorhynchus Variation appears all over his bullet games, and his record in the [[[[uct|term|Nimzo-Larsen Attack]]]] is especially dangerous in Blitz. In Rapid, his Sicilian chops are even cleaner: he has a perfect 100% record with Sicilian Defense: Moscow Variation, albeit from a small sample. Combined with a love for sharp gambits and surprise moves, the result is an opponent who is never allowed to feel safe at the board.

The Comeback Artist

The numbers show a player with an almost absurd recovery rate. He enjoys a supremely high bed, while his win rate after weaker pieces is above 54%, which should be illegal. He rarely loses a 2.43% rate, but he is not a single-sided message board: if you want the notes, you will have to take them in the endgame.

His longest winning streak reached 16, while his longest losing streak stopped at 9. That kind of rebound says more about heart than opening preparation.

Known Rivals

Several players have crossed his path so often they deserve their own chapter. Most frequent is the stubborn Richard Stalmach: they have met 74 times, with Němec leading 39 wins to 30, plus 5 draws. He does not always rule, though. Aman Hambleton is a rarer but successful counterweight, winning 16 of the 19 encounter with Nemsourek08 winning only 2. Every player has their Kryptonite.

His best hours tend to sit around 14:00, when the win rate climbs. During that window, there is only one chart that matters: the one that goes up. If you see Nemsourek08 at your laptop, make sure you are the one who played the first bad move.

A Bullet Transformer

Jáchym is not the kind of player who only points collect standards. His 2800 (2026-02-10) shows that anyone who once had him as a weak spot called him too soon. If he has not yet reached an official grandmaster title, his online speed suggests the paperwork is merely a formality.

He is equal parts Czech, chaotic, and accurate. With Rapid as his declared preference, he will next make you wonder why he just played 1.b3 in a bullet game.
