Current standing
Your personal best so far: . Keep an eye on the trends: .
What you already do well
- Opening versatility. You handle both 1.e4 and 1.d4 comfortably and answer them with solid defences (Caro-Kann, Nimzo-Indian, Sicilian).
- Piece activity. In the win vs vlahovicoggy your rooks hit the seventh rank (26…Rd7–d2!) and never looked back.
- Conversion technique. When ahead you centralise the king, swap the right pieces and finish efficiently.
- Clock handling. You usually keep a time edge, reducing blunders in critical moments.
Recurring issues to address
- Kingside pawn storms too early. Games against Pia Cramling and Aliaksandra Tarasenka show that premature g-/h-pawn thrusts opened dark-square holes.
- Central counter-breaks. In the loss to Tapson67, White’s e4–e5 and c4-c5 left you with loose pieces. Study typical breaks in the Ragozin.
- Leaving pieces en-prise to tactical shots. Tactics such as 26.Nf5+! (Tapson game) reveal a need for more intermezzo awareness.
- Sicilian king safety. Pushing the f- and g-pawns before securing the king let Black equalise or more in several Kan/ÓKelly positions.
Opening focus for the next month
- Deepen your Nimzo-Indian Classical lines (4.Qc2 and 4.e3). Build a model-game file with typical plans.
- Against the Sicilian Kan/Kalashnikov, test 6.Be2 or 6.g3 instead of early Qg4 to avoid theoretical land-mines.
- Revisit the Caro-Kann Advance as White; consider 4.Nc3 rather than 4.h4 to keep flexibility.
Tactical & endgame homework
Daily: 10 mixed puzzles focusing on removal of the guard, discovered attack and basic rook endings. Finish each session by asking “what is my opponent’s idea?” — a practical drill in prophylaxis.
