Hi Saksham, here’s some constructive feedback to help push your bullet chess to the next level!

1. What you’re already doing well

  • Fast development out of the gate. In many games you reach castling or a material advantage by move 10 (see the win vs. funtnagibator300). That’s a solid foundation in 60-second chess.
  • A clear, repeatable opening repertoire. 1.e4 as White and …e5 as Black give you familiar positions such as the Four Knights, Scotch and Vienna. Familiarity = speed.
  • Basic tactical vision. Forks like …Nc2⁺ and exchanges that win minor pieces show you spot one-move tactics quickly.
  • Killer instinct on the clock. Your win rate spikes late in the game when you are ahead on time or material. (

2. Biggest growth areas

  • Time management in won positions. Five of your last six losses were time-forfeits while still level or even better on the board (e.g. vs. porus23 and NTEMNANDI). ✱Rule of thumb✱: if you’re clearly winning, play the simplest safe pre-moves and force exchanges.
  • Over-reliance on one opening family. The Four Knights / Vienna structure appears in nearly every game, so opponents can prep. Add one surprise line each side (e.g. White: Scotch Gambit; Black: Petroff) to stay unpredictable.
  • Pawns pushed too far, too fast. In the Philidor loss vs. shravanirs you created holes with 5.dxe5 and 17.c3 ?! which Black exploited. Ask “Does this pawn push open more lines for me or my opponent?”
  • End-game conversion. You sometimes win on time rather than technique. Practise the classic bullet endings: king + rook vs king, king + passed pawn vs king, and basic mating nets so you can finish moves instantly.

3. Practical bullet tips

  1. Adopt a “two-second rule”. Spend max two seconds on any move unless the position is critical. Most of your flags happen after a 5-6-second think on a single move.
  2. Pre-move safely. In clearly winning positions pre-move checks, captures, or recaptures that can’t backfire (e.g. automatic rook takes rook on an open file).
  3. Chunk your opening. Memorise one forced sequence up to move 8 for each colour. Every second saved early converts to ~3 extra moves in the final scramble.
  4. Use “touch-move” thinking. While your opponent’s clock is running, hover your mouse over the candidate square so releasing is instant once their move appears.
  5. Keep pieces connected. Loose pieces cost precious bullet micro-seconds to defend. Before moving ask, “Will this leave a piece en-prise after a simple zwischenzug?”

4. Study suggestions (light & bullet-friendly)

  • Daily 10-minute puzzle rush → sharpens one-move tactics you need in 60 s.
  • Review one mini-game each day with the engine set to 10-second limit; note only the first big mistake (no deep dives).
  • Play 10-15 games of 3|0 each week to practise finishing with increment before dropping to 1|0.

5. Snapshot of your current progress

Peak bullet rating so far: 872 (2022-03-26)  – keep an eye on this as you add new openings.

6. Key moment to remember

Don’t let this happen again – you were one move from perpetual but flagged:

Action plan for the next two weeks

  • Alternate your White openings: Day 1 & 3 – Four Knights; Day 2 – Scotch Gambit.
  • Play 50 bullets focusing solely on not dropping below 10 s in a won position.
  • End each session by converting 3 won bot endgames (rook+king vs king) in under 15 s.

Stick to the plan, track your peaks, and you’ll see progress quickly. Good luck, have fun, and keep the mouse moving!
