Hi Spyrime – constructive feedback from your last sessions

What already works

  • Active play & initiative. You regularly seize space with …f5/…h5 or g-pawn storms (see the win vs roshan_mangaonkar). This keeps opponents calculating and often wins you valuable clock time.
  • Tactical alertness. Shots such as 10.Nc7+!! against dens2828 and 17.Rxb4! vs shapirelli show good pattern recognition for forks and loose pieces.
  • End-game technique. In the rook ending vs islambay09 you coordinated king & rooks smoothly, forcing resignation without drama.

Main improvement themes

  1. King safety.
    • Topdouche: 11.Kf1 left your king stuck in the centre & cost the game.
    • KaiHoefken: the king stayed on e1 while both flanks opened.
Guideline: castle before pushing g-/h-pawns or launching queenside raids.
  2. Clock management when ahead. A large share of your wins are on time, but so are several losses. Try to keep a 20-30 s buffer by doing a quick “what is my opponent’s threat?” check before every move.
  3. Opening depth. You reach this tabiya constantly:

    .
Spend an hour with three master games for each side and note typical ideas (c4 break, e4 push, Black’s …c5 counter). That foundation will prevent random moves like 8.Bb5? vs topdouche.
  4. Simplify when winning. You often keep complications after winning material. Practice converting an extra exchange by trading pieces (not pawns) and bringing the queen back to defence.

Quick checklist for your next 3-min game

  • Develop at least four minor pieces before wing pawn pushes.
  • Castle no later than move 10.
  • After every move, scan: checks ‑ captures ‑ threats.
  • If up material, trade pieces, centralise king, push passed pawns.
  • Maintain ≈25 s for every 10 moves.

Keep the aggressive spirit – once the king safety and time handling tighten up, 400+ blitz is within easy reach. Good luck, and enjoy your next games!
