What you are already doing well ✅

  • Tactical alertness – In your live-rapid win against haritharang08 you spotted the loose b7 pawn, then converted the extra material smoothly. The critical sequence is worth replaying:
  • Piece activity & initiative – You habitually place rooks on open files (e.g. Rc1, Rd1, Ra6) and bishops on long diagonals, putting steady pressure on the opponent.
  • End-game stamina – The 73-move grind versus diokuta showed good perseverance. You kept pieces coordinated and eventually pushed the passed g-pawn home.

Key areas to improve 🔧

  1. Daily time management
Five of your last six losses were on time. Consider:
    • Reducing the number of simultaneous daily games.
    • Setting a fixed “check-in” routine (morning / evening).
    • Using vacation time when real-life gets busy.
  2. Opening consistency
You often reach reasonable positions but occasionally drift early (e.g. 4…Nc6!? in the d4-Nc3-Nf3 lines, allowing Nb5/Nc7 tricks).
    • With White, pick one system (London, Colle or QGD main lines) and learn the first 10 moves deeply.
    • With Black, versus 1.e4 decide between the solid French Defense or open games with 1…e5 – not both for now.
    • After every game, add the first moment you felt unsure to an “opening notebook” and look it up.
  3. King safety & prophylaxis
Moves like 9.Qb3 (exposing your own queen) and 5…Qe7+ (in the French) show tactical courage, but sometimes leave your monarch in the centre. Before launching an attack, quickly ask:
“What does my opponent want next?” (Prophylaxis)
If their threat involves checks on the back rank or loose pawns, fix those first.
  4. Conversion technique
When ahead, simplify. In the endgame against diokuta you were winning much earlier; trading into a basic rook-pawn ending would have sealed the game 20 moves sooner. Practise the “anchor plan”:
    1. Activate king.
    2. Trade rooks if up a minor piece.
    3. Create a passed pawn furthest from the remaining king.

Suggested next steps 📈

  • 30-minute weekly session on Tactics Trainer until you can solve 3-move combos in under 1 minute.
  • Play two annotated 15|10 games per week and review immediately afterwards while the ideas are fresh.
  • Study one classic game featuring your chosen openings (e.g. Capablanca–Lasker for QGD) each weekend.

Encouragement

Your win rate when you do finish games is solid – the data proves it. Keep your clock under control, streamline your openings, and your rating will climb quickly.

Happy studying and good luck at the board!
