What you already do well

  • Active, initiative-oriented openings (e.g. 2.e5 against the French placed Black on the back foot in your win vs masud_h).
  • Good feel for converting an extra pawn when pieces are simplified. The sequence 29-34 in the same game shows clean centralisation and king activity.
  • Practical use of the clock: your blitz wins rarely go below 10 seconds – you keep just enough buffer to finish tactical lines.

Targeted improvement areas

  1. Kingside pawn pushes
In the loss against srboljubmilovanovic you advanced g- & h-pawns before finishing development, weakening the dark squares around your king.
    Critical fragment:
    .
Tip: before moving a wing pawn ask “Can my opponent open files toward my king in three moves?” – if yes, postpone the push.
  2. Early queen raids
Several defeats start with your queen going on adventures (e.g. 24.Qg6? vs goodluckmate17). Train the habit of counting defenders vs attackers on the square you are entering.
  3. Time-pressure endgames
Two losses came simply from running out of time in technically drawable positions. Practise 1-minute rook-and-pawn endings vs engine to automate basic techniques (Lucena, Philidor).
  4. Opening focus
Your repertoire is wide (Reti, KIA, Sicilian, French sidelines). Narrow it temporarily: pick one mainline with clear plans and analyse 10 master games. Depth beats breadth for rating climbs.

Four-week action plan

  • Puzzle Rush 20-minute session, 3×/week – aim for 40+ score to sharpen concrete calculation.
  • Replay the last 15 blitz games; for each blunder identify the precursor (often a quiet positional inaccuracy).
  • Create a mini “tabiya” file of your favourite setups; annotate with typical ideas (pawn breaks, minority attack, outpost placement).
  • End of week #4: play a slow (15 | 10) match and self-annotate – use it to check whether pawn-storm discipline and clock handling improved.

Quick reference stats

• Peak Blitz rating: 2227 (2019-08-15)
• Current streak: +1 (last game vs masud_h)
• Most common tactical motif exploited: forks – keep searching for knight jumps! fork

Keep training systematically and your next rating milestone will follow soon. Have fun over the board!
