Hi pekos64! 👋 Here’s some personalised feedback to help you keep climbing.

Your strengths

  1. Active piece play. Whether you’re grabbing space with 4.f4 in the English or pushing c-pawns in Ruy-Lopez Open lines, you rarely shy away from activity and you usually come out of the opening with good piece scope.
  2. Tactical resourcefulness. Games such as

against marsel_khanukaev show you spot sacrificial ideas and are happy to calculate sharp continuations.
  3. Playing for the initiative with Black. The Chigorin (…Nc6 vs. d4 c4) and Agincourt English set-ups give you practical chances and seem to suit your style.

Key areas to focus on next

1️⃣ Time-management discipline

Five of the eight supplied games ended on the clock (both wins and losses). Try this routine:

  • Decide on a “think-break” threshold (e.g. never below 40 sec before move 15).
  • Use the increment for calculation; use opponent’s time for planning.
  • Practise 30-second drill: play winning-position conversions starting with 30 sec each to learn quick technical moves.

2️⃣ Opening housekeeping

You already know the main ideas, but a little polishing will avoid early headaches:

  • Petroff Centre Attack. In the loss to mrmadplayer you allowed …Nc4 and …Qxb2 because 11.Rd1?! and 15.Rc3 gave Black tempi. Study model games where White keeps central pressure with c4 or Bf4 instead.
  • Chigorin Defence. After 9.Ne2 Bg4 10.f3 Bd7 you spent four tempi on the queen (…Qd5-d6). Consider the cleaner 8…e5 (or even 4…dxc4 classical QGD) to reduce vulnerabilities.

3️⃣ King safety & calculation hygiene

Both recent losses featured long queen sorties (you with Qe3/Qg5; opponent with …Qxd4, …Qxb2) that led to direct mating nets. Drill medium-level puzzles (4-6 move tactics) daily; aim for 85-90 % accuracy before moving up.

4️⃣ End-game conversion

Your Philidor win vs. franqesko1 shows you can finish cleanly (…Qg1#), but several winning positions drifted into time scrambles. Set up two-rook vs. rook & minor-piece endings with 1 minute each and practise converting against the engine.

Suggested training plan (4-week micro-cycle)

  1. Week 1: 20 min/day tactics + 10 rapid games with a 15-second increment, forcing yourself to keep >50 % of starting time after move 15.
  2. Week 2: Review 15 master games in the Petroff & Chigorin; annotate key turning points.
  3. Week 3: End-game boot-camp: rook vs. pawns, opposite-coloured bishop endings, basic fortress themes.
  4. Week 4: Combine: play 10 blitz games, pick 3 losses, and do a “post-mortem” focusing on first blunder time stamps.

Motivation corner 🚀

Your aggressive style already scores well when the pieces start flying. Sharpen the first 10 moves, tidy the clock, and you’ll convert more advantages instead of leaning on your opponent’s flag. Small improvements here will push you well past the 2479 (2025-08-31) mark.

Good luck, and happy hunting on the 64 squares!
